Andrea Bisordi-McLaughlin

Artist Statement
I have enjoyed a lifelong relationship with the arts. After receiving my BFA in Apparel Design, I forged a 30 year career in the fashion industry. In 1998, I relocated to Connecticut and was captivated by the pristine natural beauty of the region. Each season, the vibrant blossoms of spring, the coastal splendor of summer, the rich hues of autumn foliage, and the serene blankets of snow, served as a strong inspiration for my art.
In homage to the Connecticut Impressionists, I embraced plein air painting, venturing into the outdoors to capture the unspoiled essence of my surroundings. My artistic evolution has led me to explore painting, drawing, printmaking, and collage.
Central to my vision is the representation of all landscapes, whether real or imagined. I aspire to elicit a range of emotions from the viewer - feelings of familiarity, tranquility, longing and the thrill of discovery. I extend an invitation to the observer to step into my very personal "sense of place.”
